Tim Crall, M.D.

Tim Crall, M.D., is a world-class orthopedic surgeon that Mammoth Lakes is proud to call its own. With medical training from Harvard and Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, among others, Dr. Crall specializes in orthopedic sports medicine, with special interest in treating skiing and snowboarding athletes.

A native of Maine, Dr. Crall fell in love with Mammoth over the course of a 20-hour visit and moved to the Eastern Sierra shortly thereafter. “Most first-time visitors to the Eastern Sierra are immediately impressed by the sheer scale of the landscape, and I was no different when I first visited Mammoth,” he says. “However, it didn’t take long before I realized the real richness of this area was a resource of a different kind: The people. People here embody the ruggedness of the terrain in their approach to life. Their zeal for living and playing here is humbling.”

Dr. Crall joined the Mammoth Hospital Foundation board of directors in 2023 as a physician representative. “I serve on the Foundation Board because the Hospital is so vital for Mammoth Lakes to be an outdoor mecca for so many people,” says Dr. Crall. “People shouldn’t have to sacrifice the quality of their medical care in order to live or visit here. I want to help make sure Mammoth Hospital trains and retains elite level caregivers and employs the latest technology, all to deliver world class health care to our locals and visitors.”

In his spare time, Dr. Crall chases after his kids, brews his own beer and enjoys what most Eastern Sierra residents do—hiking, skiing, golfing and biking. He’s also an avid hockey player and plays every chance he gets at Mammoth’s new ice rink.
